So who is ‘Super Ethan’ and why do we have this event?
Ethan is our little boy who was diagnosed with Pre-Cursor B Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia when is only a year old. After 3 1/2 very challenging years of numerous chemotherapies and medications, he completed treatment this past April 💛 Every single day of those 3+ years was tough, but E was tougher, demonstrating constant bravery, strength and, most of all, smiles and laughter.
As his parents, we learned quite fast how dramatic life was going to change for our little family, as well as other families affected by Childhood Cancer. We also witnessed how many people it takes to help a child go through cancer treatments and how genuinely kind even complete strangers can be. We decided early on that we were going to take this terribly negative situation given to our baby boy and make something positive out of it – for him and for others affected by this horrible disease.
That’s when Super Ethan’s Steps was created : a family event in honour of our Superhero and many other Superheroes and their families to acknowledge the people and organizations who have helped these children along the way. This event not only raises funds for local organizations helping children and families affected by Childhood Cancer; it also helps raise awareness for Childhood Cancer and all that it does to such innocent children, their families and the community as a whole. Every September (Childhood Cancer Awareness Month), Super Ethan’s Steps tries to destroy the terribly high statistics of childhood cancer while also raising awareness and continuing the fight 🎗
We hope you’ll join us on September 24th to continue this battle and raise awareness and funds for the Fight Like Mason Foundation. There’s only 1 week left to pre-register and we want to see as many Gold and Black t-shirts out there as we can 💛💛
